Plants growing in the dark?

If i plant a radish seed in the soil, and it receives no sunlight, will it actually grow. I will have to measure it after 3 weeks.

So, what do you think the height would most likely be. I think it would be less than 5 inches.

Do you have an idea how much a plant would grow in the dark (no sunlight) after 3 weeks? You can give information about plants in general or about radish plants.

Thank you!

Plants growing in the dark?
Plants get energy from light.

The seed contains a certain amount of

food energy to get growth started.

When this runs out the plant will die without light.
Reply:plants need sunlight for photosynthesis only....light actually inhibits growth. if you plant 2 of the same kind of plants in the exact same conditions except that you put one on a window sill and one in a closet, the one on the window sill will be very green and not so big, but the one in the closet will be much bigger and not so green

I have no idea about radishes specifically, but it will surprise you
