I have five little bamboo plants. They are three inches tall. How do I make them spiral around eachother?

I know it has something to do with the lighting but I want it to be easy. Since there are five I would like three to be straight and two to spiral around two straight ones. However, it's fine if they all spiral.

Reply:i have several of them and they all spiral on there own. they dont normaly do this intil there about 6-8 inches though, so maybe just a little bit more time. F.Y.I. keep them in odd numbers because its good luck
Reply:Direct horizontal light.
Reply:Although I haven't tried bamboo, I have twisted other small plants with rubber bands. Since bamboo is stiffer, I think it will take more patience. Cut the bands and tie back around the five in the position you want them to begin to grow. Tie the bands firmly but don't cut into the plants. Change the bands as you sucessfully get the plants to begin twisting. Turning the and training them to follow light is time consuming also.
