I have a baby aloe vera plant, maybe 5 leaf things, including a baby one growing from the center and a dead, shriveled brown one, and another half browned, shriveled leaf, but eh rest of the plant is doing well, and the baby leaf is growing fine.
it came in this tiny pot, maybe 2 inches deep and one inch wide, with regular soil.
why did the leaves shrivel up? previously, i kept it in a frosted shelf, but I now moved it where there is plenty of indirect sunlight (after realizing it was a cactus, equaling sunlight), but i'm still confused on how much water to give. some people say every other day, otehrs once a week, others once a month.
so....basically, how much water do i give my baby aloe vera, and why did one and a half of its leaves shrivel up and die? and should i move it to a bigger pot with better soil?
Care for a baby aloe vera plant?
It sounds like you overwatered. Put it in a bigger pot. Water it really well, then let it get dry in the top inch of soil. When you water, make sure all the soil is moist. Dry soil will repel water so it might take several waterings to get it to accept the water.
Reply:Replant it in a SLIGHTLY bigger pot. To see if it needs water, gently pinch one leaf, if it's firm don't water, if it's soft water it.
Over or under watering could have caused the leaves to die.
