Can i use a tomato cage folded out straight like a trellis for two tomato plants? And when should i use it? my plants are about 7 inches out of the ground. and do i need to tie the plants to it?
How to use a tomato cage/trellis?
Place one cage per plant in the ground now and the plants grow inside the cages. You need to place the cages before the plants get any larger.
Reply:Oh boy! Looks like you've never grown tomatoes. They get huge. Sometimes one cage per plant is not enuff. Yes you have to tie them up, also. I use pantyhose cut up. The tomatoes will weigh down the cages.
