How do I get rid of banana plants?

I have been using very concentrated round up to try to kill some banana plants that are inching towards my fence and my neighbors yard. I had them under control for a while and not it seems they are growing like crazy. I tried some round up about a week ago and new ones are still sprouting. What can I do to get rid of them? What about salt?

How do I get rid of banana plants?
dig up the root ball. We have a dog who would eat our banana plants every year. she would eat them to the ground and they would grow back! We finally had some friends that wanted them so they came and dug them up. That took care of the banana plants.
Reply:banana pants how'd you manage to make a pair of pants from bananas would the peels eventually get rotten?
Reply:dig them up?
Reply:put salt on soil and nothing will grow on it anymore.

I'd try with some boiling water first.

But It depends what the place looks like and how determined you are at getting rid of it..

I have never seen a banana plant for real but I thought they were trees, how do they "inch" towards your fence?? Dig a trench! lol.
