I just bought this aloe vera plant yesterday?

It was green and beautiful and thriving. I watered it and set it out in the sun. (direct sun for about 6 hours). Most of the leaves have now turned a pale yellow except for some of the tips maybe an inch down. It also looks like it's spotty on the leaves, inside, not outside. What am I doing wrong? How can I revive it?

Thanks

Aloe belong to the succulent families, It usuallyy thrives well in full sun, while others prefer moderate to minimal lighting depending on the species, But usuall when we purchase especially on a garden shop or sometimes groceries the lighting and temperature is far different than we have at home. So according to what you described it is usually sun scorched, all you have to do is transfer your aloe in an area where it gets moderate lighting then gradually transfer it to bright light or full sun, and you can water it when dry, Don't worry it will recover.

Tip: Aloes with filamamented tip (Aloe Aristata) usually has brown tips when exposed to sun, it's normal
Reply:It's definitely gotten too much sun. Put it back in a lower-light place to recover for a while.

Do not water it much, by the way... it should dry out between waterings. I water mine once a week, no more.

The common aloe has white marks on green leaves. That's normal. There's also an aloe that's more blue-green than pure green; my boyfriend has both and the blue-green one has no spots. I just have the green with spots kind.
Reply:Aloes love sun, but must be slowly introduced to full sun. Don't water it but maybe once every two weeks, unless the soil seems terribly dry before then. Try moving your aloe to a partial or dappled shade area or even a area where it only gets very early morning sun. It will recover , it's just shocked a little ! Good luck
Reply:to much SUN move it to more shade only water when it is dry. This is an easy plant to grow mine only get a few hours of sun that is filtered.
Reply:Aloe Vera is a succulant, part of the cactis family. They die if over watered. you need to get it out of the wet soil. You should mix some dry sand or dry soil in with the soil. repot it and water it only a few spoons full every 7 to 9 days.
