How to plant alyssum seeds?

they are soo tiny and so many and it says 6-8 inches apart.. do i add multiple seeds in one area or do i individually add each tiny seed 8 inches apart? i've read sprinkling seeds... does that mean literally sprinkling the seeds over an area?.. like would you compare it to shaking pepper over your food??

To sow very small seeds you can mix them with some sand. This will help you spread them out. You do not have to sow them individually. If you get too many growing too close, just pull them out. Alyssum is very easy to grow, and will usually seed its self. Yes you just sprinkle the seeds over an area, like pepper.
Reply:Martha Stewart puts hers in a salt shaker with a little bit of sand and just shakes tiny seeds out into the area where she wants them to grow. As they grow, you can cut out the ones that are crowding the group.
Reply:Plant them as directed, the best you can. If they come up too close, you can transplant them.
