Seven foot tall weed in my backyard?

In my back yard, there are these weeds. But they are not little plant weeds, they are like trees. There are a few; the largest one is about seven feet tall and about four inches in diameter at the bottom. Does anyone know what these are?

They could be a hundred different things. I suggest you get rid of them before they can ressed and multiply your troubles.

Reply:Does the leaves, once broken off, stink to the high heavens? If so it's a Tree of Heaven, from China. Damn near impossible to get rid of after they get 2 feet tall, and they can cause a lot of damage to concrete and sewer lines. Your best bet and the only thing that would work if it is the case is to get some rock salt in a bucket pour in some water let sit until dissolved. Cut the trees out down to the roots as far down as you can and pour the salt water on them. (Try not to get to close too other plants you want to keep or you'll kill them too.)

and it does grow tall and fast.



sometimes you can sell it for money



they also have wild deep roots

so if you cut it down it will come back and sprout again
Reply:Take a leaf to your County Ag Extension Agent for identification. Could be giant ragweed or one of thousands of other plants.
