How can I identify a tiny lizard we found in our house? Too bad I can't post a picture!?

The lizard is about two inches long in total, half of that is all tail. He is a light grey/green colour, with a yellow stripe running down his back, and darker grey/green diamonds on his sides. His feet are very strange with very long middle toes. His head is diamond shaped with a very pointed nose and very camouflaged eyes. He also has a dark grey "v" shape on the top of his head. I am saying he but it could be a she, who knows. We bought a large dragon tree from Home Depot three days ago and are fairly sure he came with the plant. My son, who discovered him, has lovingly named the little guy "Arden." Please help me find out how to take care of him so he may live a rich life!

Wild lizards seldom do well in captivity. One reason is that they are often infected with parasites and the stress of captivity weakens the lizard.

It would be best to have your son let the lizard go and then get him a bearded dragon. He will then have a pet that he can interact with.

Here are some sites that might help with identification

Reply:It may be an anole. Try searching on google for a picture. Lizards eat crickets. Feed the crickets gut load and cricket food. These are available in pet stores. So are crickets. You will need small crickets. Do you live in the south? The anoles are very common in Florida.
