How do you get rid of clover?

I moved into a house with a huge backyard covered in clover, It's grows at a rate of about an inch per day. How do i get rid of it so i can plant some grass

How do you get rid of clover?
Buy some really good grass seed. Just Scatter the seed all over the ground, right over the clover.

Your grass will come up.

Clover looks really nice with grass %26gt;I think so. My grass has lots of clover in it.

I f you spray anything to kill the clover .You might haft to wait awhile before you plant grass seed, because the spray will stay in the ground for some time.

You could put lime down after you kill all the clover

It is a good source to keep your lawn beautiful and healthy.

Good luck
Reply:You need a broadleaf weed killer. There are two types out there- granular and liquid. The liquid can be either concentrate or RTU (ready to use)- it works better because you get instant contact with the target pest-the clover. Spray as directed. If you use granular it takes a little longer, but the granular usually has a fertilizer mixed with it (weed %26amp; feed) so you get the added benefit of those nutrients for the grass. Whichever form you choose may take more than one application- be patient and keep applying- you will win! Whatever you do- DO NOT USE A NON-SELECTIVE HERBICIDE- (Round-Up or similar)- this will kill your clover all right- and everything else it touches! (plant wise) Then you will have big brown patches and you will be asking how to remedy that! LOL

PS- liquid works best and fastest if temps are above 65 and it's sunny- granular needs to be watered in, so apply just before a rain or use a sprinkler after applying.
Reply:any broad leaf weed spray such as 2-4-D will kill clover. Spraying may have to be re done as there may be seeds. Be careful what formula you use or go to a garden store/section of a store and see what chemicals they have and how to use/not use them

I have to spray out clover every couple of years and I just use the Amine form of 2-4-D
Reply:wall if you dig them up then they wont come back and if you spay reed killer then it mite kill any chance to plant grass
