i wait for my houseplants to dry down about an inch before i water and am getting alot of brown and yellow leaves. is it too much or not enough water or is it a sun problem. Arrowhead and a lucky palm is my most problem plants.
Why do i get brown leaf tips on my houseplants?
what size of pots are they in- a larger pot may be staying too wet
how much water are you giving them -if the soil is staying soggy thats bad but if the water is just running through and not wetting where the roots are that is bad too.
how much chlorine is in the water- they are sensitive to it
how much direct sun are they getting -bright indirect light is best
what temperature are they in- if it is below 60 that may be a factor too high-above 90 is bad also
check for bugs,
have you fertilized them?
Reply:Brown leaf tips usually are caused by low humidity in the air. You can try misting your plants with a hand held spritzer or if you have one you can use a humidifier or have something near the plant with water in it so the water can evaporate and get to the plant. Moving plants into a group can also help the plants share the transpiration of each other. You can also put clear plastic over the plants to increase the humidity. It sounds like you are doing everything else right by letting the soil dry out a bit between waterings although if the soil doesn't retain moisture well you might want to try watering just slightly earlier than you have but just don't overdo it.
Reply:may be watering them to much leave go for a week and see if they improve
